You're seriously doing yourself a disservice by not giving it a try haha The bugs have been hilarious over the years too, like when kicking could be so fast and strong that you could kick somebody who's sleeping and they wouldn't even wake up, so you could sneak into a village at night, kick everyone's teeth out in their sleep, and go throw all the teeth into the center of town, all while people are retching in their sleep from the pain. Have never experienced such an immersively "do whatever the fuck you want" game before. Having a pack of wolves attack, just to grab them by the neck one by one and pluck their eyes out before leaving them to bleed out so I can butcher them. I barely even play Fortress Mode anymore, I have way too much fun in Adventurer Mode. Even still, they're far better for a newcomer than trying to figure out what every ASCII character on the entire table is supposed to represent in order to mentally paint a picture of what's on screen. You can get graphic tile sets for it! They're not quite as aesthetically fancy, and they don't streamline the controls like the official Steam version will, but there's still some very good ones. Edit the link for Quake taking priority: Why the hell the project that has been in development since for over 5 years isn't a priority is baffling. The CM said on discord that Quake took priority. People seem to be giving them a whole lot of rope because of their love of SS and the kex ports but this project raises so many red flags. they have given us nothing but concept and teaser for research that honestly looked really rough to me. They said at the beginning of the year that the game was finishing development and that they were opening up pre-orders to take our money. I would have a lot more respect for them if they told us how far along the game is and how long it will take. The fact that they don't have the transparency to come out and tell people that they game is delayed is beyond terrible. They were supposed in 2020 and that didn't happen. Is anybody really surprised ? they were supposed to launch in 2017 and that never happened.
