You cannot gift your friends most of the content on mogstation. With the current changes, giveaways are now impossible to hold. We all love XIV here, but closing your eyes on OBVIOUS lazy band aid fixes that only hurt us - the legit customers - while RMT are barely hit, is not the way to go. Defending SQen on their horrible practices is bad for the health of the game. Legit customers hurt, RMT trafficker barely hit. With the current change, is actually the other way around. With those six steps, actual and legit players would have not been affected at all, while RMT trafficking would have been hit heavily.

They excluded items that could only be used one-time on a character - meaning these items when purchased as a gift would still generate a redeem code - so as to prevent a situation where someone who was sent the item would not be able to redeem it as that character already has that item. If SE investigates and finds it to be obtained fraudulently, the gifted items would be deleted and disciplinary action taken. However, SE is aware that buyers of these "discounted" items could still be added as a friend and have the items gifted to them. The updated system essentially only allows the gifter to send items to people in their friends list.
